Sparkling Lake
Dive Sites 1 and 2
There are two very nice dive sites on Sparkling Lake the first and favorite site is located off Hwy 51 at an old way side. It is approximately (8) eight miles north of Timber Bay Scuba There is a large parking lot with plenty off room. The entry is down a small hill and there are no stairs so it can be tricky, be careful! Once in the water you can venture left or right and follow the contour of the lake.
The second Dive Site is located approximately a quarter mile north of site 1. It is the public landing for the lake, it is well maintained by the DNR and there is room for parking. Once in the water we usually venture to the right.
What you will see ! Sparkling Lake has a variety of fish including Bass, Rainbow smelt in the deeper water, Walleye, and Muskie you will also see plenty of pan fish! The rusty crayfish are not natural to the lake and you will often see crayfish traps from the research station. Best dives are in the 15 to 20 foot depth range.
